She's baaaaack!

Hello, hello! So, where was I on my blogging break?

Why, none other than the happiest place on Earth!

It's no secret that I adore all things Disney, so I couldn't turn down the chance to spend a few days there. Here's part one of my trip, in which I frolic about the Magic Kingdom in search of "the wildest rides in the wilderness"... I mean, in the park.

First of all, we stayed at the gorgeous Yacht Club, which is situated on an equally-gorgeous lake within walking distance to Epcot and MGM... I mean, "Hollywood" Studios! I could hardly believe that I could walk to Epcot in five minutes. Here's what I wore:

Anthropologie Night Skating Top, Zodiac Heirloom Necklace, AG Stevie Cords
JCrew cardi
Grandma's boots

If there's one thing I love more than fast rides, it's space (and if there are two things I love more than pretty clothes, it's fast rides and space!). Needless to say, Space Mountain is one of my favorite rides, so of course I picked up a fast pass for this baby first thing. I got to go on this ride twice! Unfortunately, as most of you know, Space Mountain is a dark ride, so I have no pictures en route. But trust me: it was just as amazing as it was the last time I rode it. I swear, you could put a space theme on a grocery store coin-operated ride, and I'd go on it.

By the way, I'm wearing:
JCrew warehouse shorts (four dollars!!)
JCrew warehouse cardi
Super old JC Penny's shirt

I thought the pink and polka dots fit the whimsy and youthfulness of the Magic Kingdom, and I took Jewish Girl's advice from her post about packing for Disney and chose layers that could be easily placed into a backpack.

I also made a trip to the Briar Patch on Splash Mountain. I love this ride. It's so cute! Singing fuzzy animals and big drops? Sign me up. I went twice and got pretty wet the second time.

And for the ultimate thrill trifecta, here's me on "the wildest ride in the wilderness" aka Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. I don't know what wilderness Disney is talking about, but it must be a pretty gentle wilderness if this is the wildest ride there. ;) But I don't mind; I go to Disney for the Disney Magic, not super thrills.

Of course, no visit to the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a visit from Micky and Minnie.

We got to eat dinner at a really nice restaurant called California Grill, which is located on top of the Contemporary Resort near the Magic Kingdom. Of course, my sister Ria and I had to get a picture of what anthroholics wear to Disney.

Ria is wearing:
Anthropologie Laced With Grace Dress, Leather Laurel Headband
(Apparently this dress runs in the family; Ria had picked it up a few weeks ago, and this was the first time I saw it on her!)

I'm wearing:
Anthropologie Speckled Ink Dress, Zodiac Heirloom Necklace
JCrew cardi

As you can see, I'm trying to make good packing choices by choosing pieces that can make a few different outfits and that fold nicely in a suitcase. The Speckled Ink Dress is a wonderful travel dress, by the way. It won't wrinkle, even crumpled up in your suitcase! (Thanks Anthro for giving me this idea in an email last year.)

The view from the top of the Contemporary.

But wait, there's more! Stay tuned, because I've got part two of my Disney trip coming up tomorrow, as well as some more Reviews by Ria for later on. I'll see you then! Until tomorrow, I'll leave you with my future home:
